ERA Moffett! Committed to Margaret Place & Palm Sunday!

When asked to be a sponsor for the 2012 Palm Sunday Weekend, Judy Moffett of ERA Moffett Realty, Inc. did not hesitate! Besides "getting it" insofar as the value provided to bronze sponsors, she was anxious to support the historical district where the office is Ben Mount accepts a check from Judy Moffett located.

Judy was especially pleased that Ben Mount, Palm Sunday Weekend Joint Committee representative and President of the Margaret Place Historical District would be on hand to accept the company check.

Mount is a long-time preservationist and resident of Margaret Place.  In accepting the donation he remarked, "Palm Sunday Weekend, March 31 and April 1st, 2012, is around the corner.  We are grateful that the Moffett firm has committed early on to help us build a tremendous event to commemorate the 100th anniversary of Margaret Place.  On behalf of the Joint Committee consisting of the Calcasieu Historical Preservation Society and the Margaret Place Historical District, we gratefully accept their generous donation."

In a discussion as to what photos to place here, she said she would send at least one of the office after flooding.  When questioned why she would want to bring up that negative memory, Judy's reply was straightforward and confident,  "It's simple!" The sales manager for the top ranked real estate firm and President Elect for the Southwest Louisiana Association of  REALOTRSexplained, "I want people to know how committed the agents and  the management team are to this treasured location.  While it was natural to consider moving after the 2nd flood, at the end of the day, we realized that we LOVE everything our Margaret Place Historical District location offers!"

The firm moved to the current location, 210 Dr. Michael DeBakey Drive, in the late 90's and Moffett attributes the Margaret Place location as one of the reasons for the firm's success. The office is located on the banks of the Griffith Coulee with a wood deck overlooking the tranquil setting.

hurricane_rita_05_060_xJudy offered, "From a practical standpoint, Margaret Place is so very convenient.  We cater to all of Southwest Louisiana so it is wonderful to be able to hop on I-10 or I-210 so quickly via Lake Street or Ryan and it is great to be near our vital and growing downtown area.  So much of what we REALTORS do on a daily basis revolves around downtown so it is a real plus to be near downtown. We have also enjoyed helping numerous staff and doctors at St. Patrick Hospital."
